Nkoranza South Assembly meets traders, shop owners over road expansion exercise
Officials of the Nkoranza South Municipal Assembly have met with traders, shop owners and other relevant stakeholders to deliberate on the way forward towards the removal of shops to pave way for expansion works to commence on the roads.

The team led by the Municipal Chief Executive for the area, Diana Attaa-Kusiwaa assured the traders of the Assembly’s resolve to build the local economy and announced that, aside the expansion of the road, the exercise will also would lead to the construction of ultra-modern market in the municipality, and provide clear cut solutions to improving their internally generated funds following plans to create a new region, Bono East Region.

The Municipal Chief Executive added that, the registration of business is very important to every trader, especially the VAT invoice. Being good citizens, the traders should do well to pay the revenues and not to compare themselves to Techiman, because the development of Nkoranza municipality is a shared responsibility of which they (traders) are integral part of it.



The MCE announced that contracts for the construction of the ultra-modern market for about six (6) districts, which Nkoranza South Municipal is one of them and is going to be the first has been awarded.

According to the Internal Auditor for Nkoranza Municipality, because there's no database, everything goes to their Sister municipality (Techiman). He said the traders would have to register for VAT, without which they cannot do any meaningful business.



According to the Planning Officer, the cost of the new market is One Hundred and Twenty-one Million Ghana cedis and is going to start by January 4, 2019. Meanwhile the expansion works on roads will cover 17 kilometers.
