Rain storm destroys properties worth thousands of Ghana Cedis at New Edubiase
Some properties worth thousands of Ghana cedi got destroyed as a result of a strong rain storm that hit New Edubiase on Thursday,16th November 2017.

The structures that were affected include the Pediatric Ward of the Government Hospital at New Edubiase, the D/A Primary five and six classroom pavilion and the Chief's Palace of New Edubiase Division.

The roofs of the pediatric ward and the palace were removed by the rain storm whilst the classroom pavilion of the D/A Primary School was completely raised down.

The District Chief Executive of Adansi South Hon, Francis Kwabena Ankomah, the District Coordinating Director Mr. William Meledi with the NADMO officers visited the areas to ascertain the extent of damage caused to the structures by the rain storm. The visit was also used to enable the district engineer and the NADMO officer to assess the cost of damage to enable the assembly to take immediate decision on the damage.


The Hospital Administrator Mr. Francis Boadi led the DCE and his team round the Pediatrics Ward and where the children have been re-located. Due to lack of space in the various wards, the children were re-located to the male and female wards and the recovery ward of the Theatre.

The DCE was very worried when he visited the children whose ward have been devastated by the rain storm and promised to see to the re-roofing of the ward promptly.

The District Coordinating Director Mr. William Meledi said that children needs special attention hence he called on the hospital administration to take good care of the affected children whiles the assembly mobilize resources to re-roof the structure. The DCE also said the assembly will put in place interim measures to enable the children at D/A primary school to get a place to study while the assembly mobilize resources to construct a new building for the school.

The DCE was joined by Mr .Anthony Asiedu Kennedy and Mr. Owusu Buahen the NADMO Coordinator and his deputy respectively, Mr. Rutherford Osei the Planning Officer, Mr. Tabri Bonsu the district engineers and their staff.
