He said the level of noise making by the various churches in the district has become so unbearable for many residents and it is important that they do minimize the noise they churn out.

Hon. Asibey made this appeal when he had a consultative meeting with the clergy in charge of the various churches in the district.

He said his office has received so many complaints from residents in the district on the level of noise made by the various churches in the district especially during the night.

He added that the clergy should not regard the complainants as people who are against their religion but rather people who also have their rights and must be protected.

Hon. Asibey Bonsu added that his checks also revealed that most of the churches also do not have building permits, and or licenses to operate but have taken advantage of the fact that most Ghanaians are Christians to flout the laws of the land. He bemoaned the fact that most churches have been sited at residential areas which should not be the case.

He added that the Assembly will soon register all churches in the district, not with the intention of taxing them but rather to have a complete database to know the number of churches in the district and how to inculcate them into the districts development agenda.

He called on the clergy to frequently visit the assembly to share their opinions on how they feel the assembly can be developed, adding that he is running an open door governance system where opinions from all and sundry are welcome.

The clergy were also grateful to the District Chief Executive (DCE) and his staff for the opportunity to meet them and to interact with them. They promised to assist the authorities of the assembly both in spirit and in flesh to make them successful in their bid to get Kwabre East developed to the level desired by all.

Prayers were made for the president of the land and all the appointees of government.
