Construction work will soon commence on a three unit classroom block with ancillary facilities for the Akulyoo primary school in the Bongo District in the Upper East region.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the assembly, Peter Ayamga, disclosed that the project which is valued at One Hundred and Ninty –Six Ghana Cedis (GHs 196, 000) is to be completed within six months.
The school which was established in 2013 can only boast of three classrooms and an office serving primary one to six. The situation has compelled school authorities to combine some classes as in order to accommodate more pupils.
Mr. Ayamga therefore appealed to the community members to give the contractor the needed support to help him complete the projects on time.
Chief of the area, Naba Asampabire appealed to the assembly for teachers’ quarters to help encourage teachers to accept posting to the area.
