AMA Boss salutes Drains Desilting Team

The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Accra, Mohammed Adjei Sowah has paid glowing tributes to the Drains Maintenance Team of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) whiles assuring them of government’s recognition of their continuous efforts to ensure Accra is clean.

According to him, government would continue to provide the necessary funds and logistics to enable them to discharge their duties effectively.

Mr Adjei Sowah said these last Friday when he met the Team at his residence to reward them for their efforts and address their challenges.

He presented hampers and an undisclosed amount of money to members of the team and assured to meet them periodically.

"The government continues to pay tribute and cherish the sacrifices that the Drains Maintenance Team are making to desilt and clean our drains”, he said.

He urged the team to continue to be proactive and responsive in the discharge of their duties. "I know your challenges and we are working around the clock to resolve them”, he assured.

He also used the occasion to advise residents to refrain from dumping refuse into drains and gutters, which blocked waterways resulting in floodings in the city.

Director of Drains Maintenance Unit of AMA, Graham Sabah on behalf of the Team thanked the MCE and management for the appreciation and appealed for more logistics to enhance the team's work as well as continuous motivation.
