C GONJA: DCE commissions electrification project for three communities

The District Chief Executive of Central Gonja District Assembly, Mustapha Mahama has commissioned electrification projects for three communities namely; Lito, Nwampe and Old Buipe all in the Old Buipe Electoral Area.

Addressing residents of the beneficiary communities, he mentioned that the Assembly, as its core mandate, is committed to developing and improving the socio-economic wellbeing of people in the various communities.

Mr. Mustapha Mahama revealed that, government is also committed to getting 83 other communities in the district connected to the national grid so as to get 100% penetration.

He also said “work is ongoing on Chama, Tulewe and Adape lines whiles feasibility, and mapping are ongoing at Nyantan, Dabope, Yala and Seidupe, Digma, Baladaga, Zoawu, Bonyagasei, Kpechleve, Aboasei, Gbagbanto, Salimbona, Bagpe and many others.

He however cautioned that, even though electricity is good for community development as well the individual socio-economic development, it can also be very dangerous to mankind if not properly handled and for that matter they should always take precautionary measures to avert any misfortune. “I urge you to employ the services of professional Electricians when you have problems with power in your houses, the quarks will cause you more harm than good”

On the side-lines, the DCE also presented street light bulbs to the three (3) communities.

The Chiefs and people of the Old Buipe Electoral Area through the Assembly Member, Wone expressed their sincere and profound gratitude to the DCE and President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo's government for their tireless efforts in ensuring that they also receive their fair share of the national cake.

He promised that, they will take precautions in using the electricity and also conserved Energy as admonished by the DCE.

In attendance were Mr. Owusu Ansah, Mr. Emmanuel, Regional VRA Supervisors-Tamale, Managing Director of Ella Engineering, the project contractor: Alhaji Ella Sumaila, Mr. Ibrahim-NEDco Buipe, Constituency Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party for Yapei /Kusawgu, Alhaji Asase Ketekewu Alhassan (Agapet) and Assembly Member for Old Buipe Electoral Area, Hon Williams Asawu Wone.
