Lawyer Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommoh urged the citizenry not to see the occasion as a mere merry making but an opportunity for the present generation to have a sober reflection on the struggles and sacrifices made by our forebears in achieving state sovereignty for the Nation.

The District Chief Executive said, the occasion affords the opportunity to acknowledge the legends in our communities who have made and continue to make positive contribution towards the development of the nation.
She therefore assured the senior citizens readiness of the assembly to tap their experiences for the development of the District.

During an open forum, some of the aged said it was time for parents to invest more in the education of their wards and avoid using them on things that would bring no benefit to their families and the society.

They said in addition that to investing in the education of their children, they should also need to encourage them to study hard and avoid all forms of social vices.
