SUNYANI: Winners Chapel celebrates Xmas festive with Muslims children
The Sunyani branch of Winners Chapel International has celebrated this Christmas with Muslims at a party organized at the Church premises at New Dormaa in the Sunyani Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region.

Mr. John Obonyilo Resident Pastor of the Church in Sunyani at the ceremony said the essence of bringing Muslims and Christians together was a way of making the peace of God a reality on earth. “Christmas is a time to express the love of God and as Christians we cannot preach the love of God without expressing it”, he said.

The Assembly member for New Dormaa area in the Sunyani Municipality, Madam Ajara Dapaa who led the Muslims to the party expressed joy for the invitation. She said both Christians and Muslims belief in one God. She observed that if both religions will coexist in love and unity, then the peace of God would become a reality on earth.

The party was extend to the Compassion is Love in Action, an orphanage home at Yawhima a suburb of Sunyani where items such as food, drinks, clothes, shoes, toys, sweets as well as cash were presented by Pastor Obonyilo to the home.




He said Christmas was time of cheer and merry making and that the true purpose of Christmas cannot be achieved if it was not backed by giving which is the bedrock of the Christian faith. “We cannot talk about love without expressing it and we are showing it by this donation.” He said. “Christmas is a time to put smiles on the face of people and happiness in their lives.” He added.

Rev. Mrs. Charlotte Osei, founder of Compassion is Love in Action orphanage home thanked Mr. John Obonyilo Resident Pastor and the leadership of the Church for showing their love for less privileged by putting smiles on the face of the children. She said Christianity came about when God expressed his love for humanity by giving out his only son Jesus to come and die for us. “Giving is what God appreciates the most”, she stressed.

She therefore called on all to be generous especially to the deprived and vulnerable.

The children were from the various Muslim communities in the Municipality.
