2,616 PWDs receive cash transfer- DCE

2,616 persons of Disabilities have received their share of Common Fund in Daffiama Bussie Issa District of the Upper West Region.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, District Chief Executive of the area, Mr. Sands Imoro Nadi stated that, the department in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has completed the 56th cycle payment of beneficiaries Livelihood Empowerment against Poverty (LEAP).

He said, the payment took place in all the communities across the district and about 2,616 beneficiaries received CA's transfer from the ministry.

Mr. Nadi states that, the disability fund management committee is currently vetting the application to enable them disburse for the funds to deserving persons as soon as possible.

He also added that "we have now got a data base of person with disabilities in the district, henceforth every application that comes to the committee will be vetted and approved using the database as the reference point."

Mr Sands Imoro Nadi urged all the Assembly Members to inform the disable person in their communities who have not yet registered to do so at the social welfare department.
