NANUMBA S: District Agric Sector Governance Platform launched

The District Chief Executive for the Nanumba South District; Hon. Natogmah Ibrahim Mukàila launched the District Agric Sector Governance Platform (DASGOP) for the District.

This is the initiative of a consortium of four Non-governmental organizations including; CARE GH, WANEP, SEND GH and UNICEF.

The brain behind this development is to trigger good governance to serve as a foundation for the development of agriculture in the area in particular and the nation at large.

The membership of the platform include among others; three persons from central administration of the D/A, made up of the DCE, DCD and the DPO, a rep. from the Traditional sector, MOFA, Farmers groups and CBOs.

In his brief remarks, the DCE was overwhelmed by this initiative as it will ensure increased productivity in the area which obviously will increase the income levels of the people. He was full of praise for the consortium and appealed to them to continue to do everything within their means to help his people.

He was particularly happy that the initiative is coinciding with the Government Planting for Food and Jobs Program.
