ADANSI S: Hon Jonas Morris Woode retained as PM
Hon Jonas Morris Woode was retained as the Presiding Member of Adansi South District Assembly when he polled 50 out of the 51 votes cast with one rejected ballot, on 21st December, 2017.

The total number of all the Assembly Members is 60 but those present and voted were 51.

The election of a Presiding Member became necessary per the Local Government Act 936 which mandates the Assembly to have elections of Presiding Members every two years.

When nominations were opened no Assembly Member filed for the position except Hon. Jonas Morris Woode who was the incumbent Presiding Member.

The election was conducted by the District Electoral Commission led by the District Electoral Officer Mr. Odonkor.

Accepting the challenge to lead the Assembly, Hon Jonas Morris Woode thanked all the Assembly Members for the confidence they have repose him by retaining him as the Presiding Member ones again.

“I will continue to do everything within my authority as the Presiding Member of this House to bring the needed development to the district and also see to the welfare of all the Members of this Assembly, what I need is your support and encouragement because the task ahead is many and it will take all of us to fulfill those tasks”, he concluded.
