Guakro Effah SHS gets a new 12-unit classroom block
A new 12 unit classroom block funded by the Ghana Education Trust fund (GETFund) has been handed over to the management of Guakro Effah senior high school in Offuman in the Techiman North District of the Brong Ahafo Region.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the District Chief Executive for Techiman North Hon. Peter Mensah noted that government is committed to providing infrastructure to less privileged schools to improve teaching and learning.

He commended and thanked the contractor for ensuring the project was delivered within schedule after the award of the contract. He urged all contractors working on various government projects in the district to endeavour to abide by time schedules assigned to their projects.



He also called on the school authorities ensure that they maintain the beauty of the structure for future beneficiaries adding that "the provision of the new structure should improve the school's academic performance".

The DCE also handed over 7 pockets of roofing sheets to aid ongoing projects initiated by the school.



On his part, the District director of Education Nana Ankamah Bosomtwe II also lauded the efforts of government in helping undertake such infrastructural projects as a means of enhancing quality education in the District.

The school for the past three years has been writing it's final exams at the Tuobodom SHS as the school's center was revoked by WAEC due examination malpractices.



He however seized the opportunity to announce to the students that through the efforts put in place by the DCE and Nananom, "the West African Examination Council has restored the school as an examination Centre".

The queenmother of the Offuman traditional council Nana Amobea II expressed gratitude to the government and DCE for their commitment to transforming Offuman Senior High School by providing it with such a modern infrastructure. She however called on government "to assist the school with a dining hall, master’s bungalow, Administration block and Assembly hall".



She promised that the traditional council will continue to support government in all developmental projects.
