MP rewards hardworking teachers with motorbikes
The Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Betty Krosbi Mensah has rewarded three hardworking teachers in her constituency for their selfless, dedication and hardworking spirit towards their duty call in the district with a motobikes.

According to Betty Krosbi Mensah, the constituency can only boost of 130 schools available for teaching and learning as compelled to 573 communities indicating that even the available 130 schools have inadequate teachers to manage them, a situation which has left many brilliant kids across the constituency lack quality education.

"It is my desire and passion to bring quality education to the door step of every child in the constituency, hence my decision to build pavilions where it is needed. So far fifteen of my pavilions are at various stages of completion across the constituency" She stated.

While pursuing this vision, the MP has since 2017 supported about fifty students to pursue their tertiary education which includes those in colleges of education with the hope that they will all accept postings to Afram Plains after completion.

She has also instituted an award scheme for hardworking teachers as a motivation to teachers in her constituency to lure more teachers to Afram Plains.

This according to the MP will be observed every year beginning this year, and expressed hope the scheme will yield the necessary result for subsequent ones to be organized.

The three award winners who were given the Motorbikes are Mr. Alex Dabah from Digya Island, Mr. Agbordzor Francis from Dwarf Island and Mr. Agbadzanyi Peter from the Inland

The District Director of Education, Mrs Ivy Mensah applauded the Member of Parliament for the kind gesture saying when teachers are motivated and adequately resourced they really work extra hard to achieve results.

She praised the Member of Parliament for being a woman of her words and used the occasion to appeal for more of such support to help motivate teachers in the constituency.
