ASUOGYAMAN: DCE commends Gov’t over PFJ
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Asuogyaman, Mr Samuel Kwame Agyekum has commended the NPP government, saying that, farming activities in the country has become exciting again since the implementation of the Planting for Food and Jobs flagship initiative.

The DCE, who was speaking at the Assembly’s First Ordinary Meeting, disclosed that about 143-bags of improved maize, 3,000 bags of NPK, 1,500 bags of Urea as well as seedlings for tomatoes, onion and pepper were received from the government for distribution to farmers in the area.

According to him, the programme as designed will ensure food security, provide raw materials for each of the factories to be established under the One District One factory (1D1F) industrialization drive and also reduce unemployment in the area.

He furthers commended farmers in the area for embracing the policy and pledged government’s support for them.

As part of efforts to help sustain the programme, the DCE admonished beneficiary farmers to fulfill their part of the arrangement by paying the money after harvesting their farm produce.

He called for support from Assembly Members to rally behind the government to help it deliver on the numerous promises.
