Philanthropist plans to construct five libraries in Sissala East

A Philanthropist and Social Entrepreneur, Mr Kingsley Kanton has announced plans to build five library facilities in the Sissala East Municipality to encourage reading habits and reverse falling standards of education in communities.

He said the motive for the initiative was because the falling standards of education in the Municipality were a major concern to him, hence the decision to invest in the project in five local communities.

Mr Kanton made this known when he attended the Nyinbalia Football Games hosted in Pieng, a farming community in the Sissala East region.

“An investment in education pays the best dividends in that no one can take it away from you,” he said, adding, “the human mind is like a parachute and only functions when it is opened. Education opens the mind up to grow and glow”.

He said he had already met and discussed the initiative with the beneficiary communities; which includes: Nabugubelle, Nwanduonu, Nabulo, Bugubelle and Kong.

He expressed the hope that opinion leaders from the selected areas would support him to setup the public libraries with his American friends beginning from March this year.
