TAIN: Make sure there is no hiding place in our midst- DCE
Madam Charity Oforiwaa Dwommoh, the District Chief Executive for Tain has called on the public to all join in making sure there is no hiding place in our midst for those who would disturb our peace.

She disclosed this at the District 61st Independence Day Anniversary celebration held at Nsawkaw Methodist Junior High School Park.

According to her, all the plans and big dreams that the government under the leadership of president Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo will come to a naught if we do not have peace in the country which is the primary requirement for prosperity.

"The first obligation of every government is to ensure the safety of the citizens which the government is determine to discharge faithfully," she added.

The DCE said the recent spate of armed robbery incidents in the country is totally unacceptable and government will work to ensure that citizens are able to go about their daily duties in the confidence that they are safe. She gave the assurance that miscreants will not have the space to terrorize citizens and generate a sense of insecurity in the country.

Hon. Charity Oforiwaa Dwommoh said government is doing and will do whatever it takes to enable the police discharge their duties effectively by providing the means for them to modernize their duties effectively by providing the means for them to modernize their equipment and learn modern methods of policing and the numbers will be rapidly increased to match our growing population, and sophisticated and audacity of the criminals.

She therefore urged the citizenry not to forget that the police need the help and the support of the community to able to do their work.

"We dare not lose our reputation as a haven of peace and security. I will do whatever is necessary within the confines of the constitution and the laws of the land, to ensure the peace of our District and the country as a whole," the DCE said.
