The Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG has commissioned 5 more transformers to provide additional voltage to supply communities in the Amansie Central District capital, Jacobu.

The commissioning of the transformers is expected to address inadequate power supply in the various communities and make it possible for more areas to be hooked onto the national electricity grid.

Commissioning the 5 transformers, the District Chief Executive, Emmanuel Dede Appiah was full of praise for the government and the Ministry of Energy And Petroleum for the expansion programme which is very important for socioeconomic upliftment in the district.

He however appealed for early supply of meters to enable the people get the benefits of the investment made by government.

The District manager of E.C.G Obuasi, Mr. Osei Owusu has warned the people against any attempt to illegally connect electricity to their homes or shops adding that such practice is a criminal offence which can land people in serious troubles. He therefore urged the people to report to his outfit whenever they detect any illegality in connecting the power.
