The Reverend Edward Ray Odame Cudjoe, General Overseer of King’s Church Ghana, has advised Ghanaians to eschew negative tendencies like hatred, animosity, backbiting, rumour-mongering, and character assassination, which impedes development.

He noted that "Ghanaians live in fear and suspicious of each other and in the midst of this confusion we cannot progress as individuals, families, societies and as a nation ".

Reverend Cudjoe, who gave the advice in a Christmas Message issued in Kumasi stressed the need for peace, unity and understanding among Ghanaians to help them advance in all their fields of endeavour.

He said "Jesus is the greatest reconciler and if he is in our hearts, he
will fill us with love and forgiveness, making it possible for us to accept and tolerate each other in spite of our weaknesses".

The General Overseer observed that "if forgiveness and reconciliation
rule in the home, there will be peace, harmony and stability, which can speed up the work of evangelism as well as the development of the country".

Reverend Cudjoe added that irreconcilable nation whose people are always on each others throat could never see any realistic and meaningful progress because a lot of its resources would be spent on conflict resolution.

He therefore called on Ghanaians to give Jesus Christ that momentous ingredient of a happy embrace and he will without any iota of doubt, rule in their hearts, home and the country at large.
