The Omanhene of Bechem, Nana Akwasi Ofosu Akoto-Gyaebour II, has urged the elites in society to help preserve Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.

He said it was time they showed keen interest and participated in traditional and cultural events in their various communities.   

Nana Akoto-Gyeabour II was speaking at the installation of Nana Barima Mensah, the Aboafohene of Bechem.   

Known in private life as C.D.B. Mensah, the new sub-chief is the District Director of Education for Tano South in the Brong-Ahafo region.   

The Omanhene said he was confident that Nana Mensah would bring his wealth of experience to bear on the development of education in the traditional area.   

He said his installation was in recognition of his integrity, hard work
and service to society.   

Nana Mensah pledged total loyalty to the Omanhene and the people and said he would do all he could to help speed up the progress of the area.
