The Head of Administration and Secretarial Support for the 2010 Population and Housing Census (PHC), Mr Martin Kwasi Poku, has indicated that the questionnaire administration stage of the trial census the Bia district is facing  challenges.

He indicated that enumerators were having a tough time reaching residents due to very heavy rainfall in the Bia District.

According to Mr Poku, enumerators have been provided with rain coats, Wellington boots and satchels to protect the questionnaires.

Speaking to Daily Graphic on how different the questionnaire being administered was from previous ones, Mrs Araba M. Forson, a member of the co-ordinating team for the 2010 PHC, who made one available, said the number of questions had been increased to include those soliciting information on access to the Inter¬net, mobile phones, disability, death and agriculture.

She said the questions on agriculture would help form a database for a more detailed Agriculture Census which would be held a year after the national census.

In all, 1,175 enumerators are administering the question¬naires and it is expected that the trial census will end by the end of the month.
