MCE visits BECE examination centres
Forty-four Thousand, and Thirty-Four (44,034) candidates within the Eastern Region are taking part in the ongoing nationwide Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E).

Out of the number, a total of Three Thousand and Thirty-four (3,034) candidates drawn from One Hundred and Three schools within New Juaben Municipality are sitting for the exams. The schools which participated in the exams are made up of Sixty-One (61) public schools and Forty-Two (42) private schools.

According to statistics from the Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service, the number of female candidates participating in this year’s exam have increased by a margin as compared to last year’s record.

An entourage led by the Municipal Chief Executive; Comfort Asante, who toured some of the exams centres within the Municipality, advised the BECE candidates to stick to their books in order for them to achieve academic excellence. She said they should not just answer any question but rather read the question thoroughly before answering any question.



“I urged you all to answer what the question demands but not what you think will be the answer” she reiterated.

The MCE encouraged them to eschew any fear and face the exams with dedication and commitment, so as to see their dreams come through to make their parents and government proud of them.

She explained that, before they can be enrolled unto the President’s vision of Free SHS policy, it behooves on them to justify their inclusion through the BECE exams.

According to Madam Comfort Asante, the future of this country depends on them therefore they should do away with any examination malpractices which will jeopardize their future.



She said the Presidency, Ghana Education Service and above all Ghanaians are with believe that candidates participating in the ongoing B.E.C.E will pass their exams well and benefit from the Free SHS policy.

In an interview with a candidate from Asokore FRIHANS EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX; Miss. Emmanuella Aboagye commended government through the MCE for exhibiting a sense of patriotism towards education.

She further assured the MCE and the nation as well to do their possible best to make Ghana proud.
