Dormaa East DCE applauds President over PFJ and PERD programmes
The District Chief Executive of Dormaa East District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region, Emmanuel Kofi Agyeman has applauded the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led government for the successful implementation of the Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) and Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) policies.

"On behalf of the good people of this District and on my own behalf I wish to congratulate the President for a smooth implementation of the Planting for Food and Jobs and also Planting for Export and Rural Development policies which has boost the farming activities of the District which farmers constitute about 70 percent of its population" he stated.

This forms part of the address of Mr Emmanuel Kofi Agyeman to the Wamfie Presbyterian Church during the centenary celebration of the Church which he was the Guest Speaker.

The outspoken District Chief Executive who said the Ghanaian market is chocked with food stuffs credit the development to the interventions put in place to see the smooth running of the Planting for food and jobs.

"Today our Ghanaian markets especially in this District is chocked with food stuffs going for cheap prices, how could this be possible without the interventions put in place to see the smooth running of this great policy, he questioned".

Pointing out the interventions, the DCE said "the government supply of good seeds for farmers to plant and also the 50 percent subsidy on all farm input among others has really yielded a very good results".

According to the DCE, the government through the District Assembly was able to distribute 205,700 cashew seedlings to farmers in the district free of charge under the government’s Planting for Export and Rural Development policy.

"Today when you visit Mewerefiriwuo, Kasepa and Akontanim, the District Assembly is in the process of raising 500,000 coffee seedlings for free distribution to farmers next year which we have started nursing in these Communities" he hinted.

The DCE added that "the Assembly again together with Central Government is planning to raise about 500, 000 cashew seedlings which will also be distributed to farmers next year".

Emmanuel Kofi Agyeman then observed, the Dormaa East was not left out in the implementation of the government flagship programme “One District, One Factory” which was one of the main campaign promise ahead of the 2016 general elections.

"As part of one District one factory (1D1F) policy promised by the then Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party during the 2016 general elections, I am pleased to report that Dormaa East is not left out. We are blessed with two factories which are the Egg Create Factory and the Poultry Processing factory. All these factories are approved by the office of the 1D1F administrator in the Ministry" he explained.

The District Chief Executive advised the citizenry especially the teaming youth to take advantage of these policies to make the program realized it objective of increasing the food stuffs on the Ghanaian market whiles creating lasting jobs for the country.

He then ceased the opportunity to solicit for support from the gathering saying, "I entreat all of us to rally our unflinching supposed to the President as he is set to lead Ghana to the land of prosperity".
