According to him, people making such claims should provide concrete evidence to back their allegations else such utterances must only be considered as mere speculations.

The first deputy speaker, who was speaking in an exclusive interview with Ghanadistricts.com over the recent happenings in Parliament, said the allegations cannot be true since his side of the House already had the numbers to confirm the six nominees.

Asked if such claims had come to his attention, the MP for Bekwai answered in the affirmative but stressed that: “in this game of politics we live with rumors, in this game of politic you would be to place you have never been to, you will be accused of things you have never heard of. I challenged them to bring evidence otherwise they are mere speculations.”

He rather questioned the rationale behind the NDC’s position to kick against the approval of all six new ministers appointed by the President Akufo-Addo on the basis of forcing the president to reduce the size of his government.

According to him, the NDC and his colleagues on the minority side of the House have no moral rights to accuse President Akufo-Addo of running an elephant sized government saying that former President John Dramani Mahama equally had a large government although Ghana had only 10 administrative regions.

“What is so special about approving a minister, what is that in Ghana we should have the agric ministry without a minister, we should have the ministry of trade without a minister or the ministry of chieftaincy without a minister? Is that what they want?”

“How many were the last NDC government, President Mahama’s government, how many Ministers did they have, they were about 84 or so with only 10 regions”.

He therefore called on the NDC to come clean and rather support the government to carry out its mandate.
