The project is one of the libraries constructed by the foundation in parts of the country to inculcate the habit of reading among school children as a means of improving their learning skills and literacy levels.

In a brief statement read at the commissioning ceremony on behalf of the first lady Mrs. Rebecca Akuffo Addo, the Executive Director of the Foundation acknowledged the contribution of the government in prioritizing education with various policies such as the Free Senior High School and reinitiating of allowances for teacher trainees to improve teaching and learning.

She then commended the development partners of the Rebecca foundation, including the Ministry of Education, Ghana Library Authority, Book Aid International, and the various Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies where the libraries are sited and urged authorities to maintain the facility to advance general academic performance in the District.
