Afadjato South to get cassava processing factory
The Afadjato South District assembly is poised to ensure the swift commencement of a new cassava processing factory, under the government’s “One District one factory“ (1D1F), agro-industrialization agenda.

This was made known by District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Mr. Wisdom Semanu Seneadza during a Town Hall meeting with various stakeholders. 


According to Mr Seneadza, feasibility study have already been carried out by appropriate authorities, adding that the assembly was currently collaborating with neighboring districts to secure enough farm lands for cassava cultivation to the feed the factory with raw materials.


 “We are excited our area has been earmarked to benefit from the food processing factory and the Assembly is collaborating with adjoining districts to secure enough arable lands for cassava farming”.


He said it is the assembly’s intentions to also collaborate with other districts to help improve its raw material base provide for the said factory.

 


“As you know farmers in this area are mostly into cassava farming but the mountainous nature of our land may not provide adequate farmland to feed the proposed factory with the needed raw material. That’s why we are collaborating with other districts,” the DCE added.


Mr Seneadza concluded by calling on all stakeholders to embrace the government policy in order to help bring development to the district.
