The training was aimed at providing entrepreneurial training and technical assistance to beneficiaries, thirty-four of whom are females and one male in order for them to take beads production business to a higher level in the district.
The participants were trained in basic beads production of slippers, Neck less, Brakeless, earrings among others.
The ten (10) day training programme which began on July 3, and ended on July 14, 2017 had trained thirty-five participants all from Asiwa community.
The Business Development officer at the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) office, Mrs. Abigail Owusu, at the closing ceremony implored the participants to take the skills acquired from the training seriously in order to benefit from it.
She also advised them to quickly get into production in order to stand the chance of qualifying for more goodies from the Rural Enterprise Programme (REP).
The resource person, Miss Najat Seidu entreated the participants to make good use of the training to facilitate their businesses and related activities in order to drive the maximum benefits that would reflect in their businesses “saying the training was to improve the entrepreneurial skills of beneficiaries to produce beads in commercial quantities and also seek to get better deals for their produce.
The District Chief Executive for the arsea, Hon Yaw Danso said the government is committed in ensure that the unemployment rate id reduced hence the training and indicated that he would sit with the management of the assembly to see what they can do to get startups for them to begin with.
Some participants interviewed were grateful to Rural Enterprises Programme and the assembly for the training and promised to work hard to meet the objectives of the project.
