Voters’ registration takes off smoothly in most centres
The first day of the voters’ registration exercise has taken off smoothly in a number of centres Ghanadistricts.com visited in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

At the Musuku Polling Station, anxious applicants queue early with the hope of securing their voters’ identity cards early enough to avoid last minutes rush.

Mr. Tamimu, the Electoral Officer at the polling station said everything including the electoral materials and handwashing facilities arrived early, adding that, “All is intact and the process is moving on smoothly as political party agents were present”.



He said the exercise commenced at 7am and is expected to close at 6pm.

Mr. Tamimu also noted that prior to the process, he explained that applicants were to provide proof of identification and information such as the right spelling of their names, date of birth, residential address, parents’ name, and hometown to quicken the process.



He added that each person having the new ID card is eligible to guarantee for ten {10} people irrespective of where the person is leaving.
