Wassa East Implement Universal Access to Approved Toilet

As part of Governments commitment to meet the Sustainable Development Goal 6 “ Universal Access to Approved Toilet”, Government has initiated and funding Sustainable Rural Water and Sanitation Project to facilitate the provision of Toilets in households in Ghana.

Ten (10) Districts have been selected in the region for this exercise and Wassa East District was privileged to be among the ten (10).

Twelve (12) communities are expected to benefit in Wassa East with total of 207 Toilets expected to take off this February for the 1st Phase.

Project Managers, Madam Evelyn Fiawonu, Extension Service Specialist and Mr John Yaw Donkoh, Regional Environmental Health and Sanitation Director visited Mr Wilson Arthur, District Chief Executive at his Office in Daboase to Work out Implementation details last Wednesday.

The aim for this special exercise is to have an open defecation free communities.
