Bosofour Assembly Member registers residents onto NHIS for free; assures of more interventions
Solomon Nyantakyi, Assembly Member for Bosofour Electoral Area in the Mampong Municipality has organized free registration and renewal of National Health Insurance cards for residents in his electoral area.

According to him, about 700 people were expected to benefit from this philanthropic exercise.

Hon Nyantakyi who is also the Presiding Member for the Mampong Municipal Assembly revealed that aside taking into consideration the health needs of his people, he had also been organizing free remedial classes for Primary and Junior High Students during their school vacation consistently for the past eight years.

On why he had added health support to his constituents, the affable P.M as he is affectionately called disclosed that a sound mind lived in a healthy body and that it was his desire to see that people could attend to their health needs at health facilities without been turned away because of national health insurance card issues.



“The National Health Insurance Scheme was a very laudable initiate that was to ensure that our health care needs were adequately catered for but regrettably not many people were able to access the scheme because of renewal and registration issues” the Presiding Member bemoaned.

He appealed to institutions and other well to do individuals in and outside Asante Mampong to come on board to support him noting that the free insurance registration and renewal of cards of over 700 residents of Bosofour would cost over GH 7000.00.

The hugely attended exercise saw a number of pregnant women, children and the elderly throng the Bosofour Community Centre to have all their issues with registration and renewals freely sorted by the Mampong Staff of the National Health Insurance team.

The exercise was expected to benefit all persons in his electoral area from children born today through to pregnant women and the elderly in the society.

A number of beneficiaries interviewed expressed their joy and gratitude and wished God’s and favor on their Assembly’s representative. They disclosed that this laudable and generous support had come at a time when many of them were faced with numerous financial challenges so this was indeed timely and unprecedented.
