The Assembly has also budgeted to drill forty (40) new boreholes district-wide and also carry out repair works on broken ones to ensure their intended purposes.

In addition, the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources is also set to provide the district with 50 mechanized boreholes to help bring potable water to the doorsteps of the people.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Daniel Kwame Gariba who disclosed this during the assembly’s second ordinary meeting noted that “potable water remained a fundamental human need of which the United Nations considers universal access to clean water a basic human right and an essential step towards improving living standards”.

He said the assembly has set its priorities right to ensure that adequate water is made available in every home for cleaning, cooking and simply keeping themselves clean.

He called for support from all stakeholders to join the assembly’s relentless efforts to enhance water supply in the district.
