Development Projections

Population Projection 2006 - 2009


The 2000 Population and Housing Census put the population of Amansie Central District at 81,871 this is about 2% of the total population of Ashanti Region.  The current growth rate of 3% in the district is higher than the Regional growth rate of 2.7%.

Population Projections over the period


The population has been projected mathematically for the next 10 years.  The growth rate is measured by assuming an exponential rate of change given by pn = poert.  The implication is that the growth rate of 3% will remain the same throughout the plan period.

Labour Force


The potential working force are those aged between 18 – 60 years.  The potential working force constitutes 47% of the total population.  The district potential working force is shown in the table below.

Service projections


Essential services in the district are derived from education, health, agriculture, provision of services such as boreholes, housing, postal services, banks, etc. Projections for these services in the period 2006 – 2009 is indicated in the table in pdf file attached.
The potential working Labour Force are aged between 18-64 years. The potential working force constitutes 47.6% of the total population.
